The Strine Family, A Year in the Making

We originally planned on doing a family photo last year about this time, but it’s tough to get the schedules of a growing family to coincide just as you need them to. But I think it was sure worth the wait...don’t you?!! Click HERE to see all of the photos from that day.

I have known the Strines since I was a young lad. I even had Janet (standing at the top of the ladder) for Home-Ec; the cooking took hold, but the sewing is long gone! Thank you Strine Family for giving me the opportunity to freeze this moment in time, and give you something to look back on years down the road.

This past Saturday, June 12, was graduation day for the Marion Technical College 2010 Class of Nursing. My wife is a graduate of the MTC Nursing Technologies program, so I know that not only have you all worked your butts off to get to this day, but that you are also extremely well prepared for your new careers. Congratulations to all of you, and best of luck with all that you do in life!!

Clowns and Storm-Troopers and Thunderstorms...OH MY!!

There was a lot of activity at this year’s Take Steps Walk for Crohn’s and Colitis, held at Wolfe Park. The rainy weather weather did little to dampen the spirits of these CCFA die-hards, who braved the inclement weather to show their support in finding a cure for Crohn’s and Colitis. In addition to clowns, storm-troopers, and thunderstorms, there were was face painting, Papa John’s pizza, and even a bouncy-house!! And don’t forget about the walk itself!!

With all this activity, an event like this just can’t help but be successful, and this year’s Take Steps Walk proves just this by raising a record-breaking $100,000!! WooHoo!!!

I would like to personally thank Colleen and Hayley Shaw, as well as Kelly Bush for inviting me back again this year to photograph this wonderful event. I had a great time again this year!

Nate and Aly go to the Prom

The picture you see is of Nate and Aly Minks of Rising Sun Indiana. They are brother and sister and my wife’s cousins...and no...they did not go to Prom together. You will see them with their dates if you click HERE. They are two fantastic kids from an incredible family. Aly, a Freshman at Rising Sun High School is a not only a beautiful young lady, but also a complete sports machine. I am excited that I have three more proms at which to take pictures of you, Aly girl!! Nate, a Senior this year is off to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the fall to study Engineering - thanks in large part to winning one of the Lilly Scholarships. If you’re not familiar with the Lilly (I wasn’t either until Nate won), it is basically a full ride to the accredited Indiana college of your choice. Winning this scholarship is huge and we are all very proud of Nate and his accomplishments. Congratulations, Nate and best of luck at Rose-Hulman!

Of course, behind every cool, brilliant, athletic teenager is a couple of wonderful parents. And that’s just What Britt and Tania Minks are...wonderful. Wonderful parents and wonderful Christians. I am so thankful to know them. I could write all day about the whole dang family...but I’ll stop here and remind you to check out the pre-prom photos.

Hayley's Hope Skate-a-Thon & Sweet 16

March 20th was the second annual Hayley’s Hope Skate-a-Thon. The purpose of the skate-a-thon is to raise money for the Central Ohio Chapter of the CCFA (Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America). Another big success, this year the Skate-a-Thon raised about $6000, which will be donated to the CCFA at the Take Steps event in early June. Click HERE to see a few photos from the event.

Hayley Shaw, now a Sophomore at Delaware Hayes, has been campaigning diligently for the past several years for the CCFA in an attempt to both raise awareness of Crohn’s Disease, and raise money to help find a cure. She has appeared before the Ohio Legislature, has recently been on NBC 4 with Ben Gelber, and has also had an article written about her in the Delaware Gazette.

Hayley’s fight is ongoing, and her next outing will be at the annual fundraiser, Take Steps Columbus. Last year Hayley was the Take Steps Honored Hero, and this year Hayley and her mother, Colleen are Co-Chairs of the Entertainment Committee. This year the event will be held at Wolfe Park on June 5. I will be there with camera in hand to help Hayley win this battle...hopefully you will be too!!

A New Look to the Site!

If you have visited this site before, you will certainly notice a difference in appearance. I have redesigned my site to give it a more “retro” look so that it meshes better with the company name. There are a few other changes here and there, but for the most part, the functionality of the site is the same as before. I have updated the pictures associated with some of the pages, and I am in the process of compiling new galleries with updated photos from my most recent sessions. Hopefully everyone will find it as easy, or perhaps even easier to get around than before.

I have done a lot double checking of the links associated with the site, but I could very well have missed something. So As you are navigating the site, please make note of any issues and let me know either via email or blog comment.

A beautiful day for two beautiful people. My brother-in-law, T.J., married the woman of his dreams, Angie, on February 13, 2010. They were kind enough to allow me the honor of being their photographer, and record their special day with these pictures. There is so much that I can say about these two, and about our family in general that I will not babble on about here. But I will say that my wife, Monica, and I feel truly blessed with the family that we have, and we give thanks the the Lord every day for blessing us with so many wonderful people in our lives.

So congratulations Angie and T.J.!! Never forget the journey that brought you to each other, and each and every day, tell each other, both through word and action, how much you love each other.

Grayson Keller 1 Month Portraits

Actually, these are Grayson’s month-and-a-half portraits. Due to some inclement weather, we could not get them done right at 1 month. Grayson is the son of Ryan and Cassie Keller. Grayson was all smiles until the camera came out (of course), at which point he thought it made more sense to take a nap. But that’s ok! Sam Pierano Senior Pictures

Sam is a Senior at Bloom Carroll High School. Sam and his mom, Karen, braved the weather back in January to come up to Prospect to have his senior pictures taken. You can check them out here. If you were to check out the medals hanging on Sam’s letterman jacket, you would not only see medals for “All League” and “Scholar Athlete,” but also one with the message “Confirmed in Christ.” Bravo, Sam, for proudly displaying this message, and best of luck with the rest of your senior year!!

YMCA Youth Cheerleading

Everyone, say hello to Ethan. Ethan is a senior at Pleasant High School in Marion, OH. Despite the “Linebacker Stare” you see in the picture, he is really nice, as is the rest of his family.
